My Trip

I remember the first week as if it were yesterday. My research partner(Johanna) and I walked together to the Hogwarts-looking campus of the University of Chicago. We immediately spotted a map, the way usual tourists do, and it led us to the building where we were going to meet with our mentor(Professor Lu) and her two PhD students. They all made us feel welcomed by going out for lunch to Medici and getting to know each other's interests. Before lunch, the keys to our office were handed to us and a temporary student account was successfully set up with the help of Bob(Director of Techstaff). After lunch, our temporary ID's were printed with the help of Nita(CS Department Administrator) and other staff at the library.

My stay here at Chicago has been amazing and safe! I live in an area very close to campus that has security on every street corner and wonderful neighbors. I am sharing an apartment with Johanna another female students(Regan) who is also doing research this summer at the University of Chicago.
